Let’s talk about godfests, shall we?
Money traps. Gambling addictions. The boosted rates yield the best time to roll a card that could be an integral addition to your team, or send you careening off into the depths of the salt mines, because wtf, you pulled that card fifty fucking bajillion times, why again. The vaunted GFEs tempt you with their amazing stats, abilities, and powerful leader skills, but also your purse strings as you chase that one….elusive…roll.
I had some itunes credit left over and bought some stones with it. 😀
So let’s start with the rolls:
For Halloween, I went trick or treating in the Halloween REM and pulled…
Spirit of the Masquerade, Alraune
Active Skill: Jack-o’-Lantern: Reduces bind status by 4 turns; other allies’ skills charged by 1 turn
Leader Skill: Right This Way: 3x ATK for Healer & Devil Types; heals HP equal to 5x RCV when matching Orbs
An adorable girl on a swing, a pure bind cleric with two time extends, two SBRs, and being an unbindable bind clear. She’s a good pull, and inheritable, to boot! I’m lacking in the bind clear active department, and she’s solidly there if I need to use her and develop her.
Masquerade Guest, Izanami
Active Skill: Merciful Protection: Reduces damage for 1 turn
Leader Skill: Care to Join Me?: 4x ATK for God & Balanced Types, but halves overall RCV
She’s a recolor of Light Izanami, who is less superior to Dark Izanami in terms of damage reduction and length of her active skill. Light Izanamis are also notoriously difficult to skill up, and in short, this is a garbage roll. I also…have no idea what’s going on in the art. Something about the way they highlighted her outline makes it difficult to figure out what her various appendages are doing.
However, she was part of the YamaP buffs in the recent JP stream. I have no idea how they’re going to buff her. None at all. So maaaaaaaybe she’ll become actually useful somehow. Maybe.
From the limited time bundle, I rolled….
Moonlit Feline Goddess Armor, Ace
Active Skill: Wild Cats X: Mass attacks for 3 turns; halves enemies’ DEF for 3 turns.
Leader Skill: Moonlit Cat X: Atk increases with 4+ combos, up to 8x; 1.5x ATK with 3+ Wood combos.
BEST CAT! My first true combo lead, one I had a soft spot for since my early days of PAD. And with her new Ace armor incarnation, she’s more fun to play and keeps the adorable shadowy cat ghosts that are there in her Devil form. Bestcat is really the BEST CAT! And I’m glad that Bastet is still fun and relevant in today’s meta.
Moving onto the regular REM:
The yolo roll before this godfest yielded me…:
Distant Sea Talent, Ruka
Active Skill: Double Water Guard: Change Fire & Dark orbs to Heart orbs.
Leader Skill: Guidance of the Flower Star: Healer type cards HP x2.5. All attribute cards ATK x2.5 when reaching Heart & Heart combos.
I wanted her solely because of her art! She’s adorable, with dolphins jumping around her, and a cute expression, and she gets progressively more upside down with every evolution! She starts off right side up, and as she gets more and more evolved, she tilts more and more into an upside-down, wind-up clockwork girl. (I think that’s a Haruki Murakami book.) She reminds me that my greatest goal in life when I was little was to be a mermaid. While she still has legs, it’s the weightless way she floats in her art that makes me so happy to have her.
Her active’s not bad but not great, but on the flip side, easily skilled up with high sapphire dragons. I could pair her with Blonia to get a heart board for A.Lakshmi, lacking other burst options. Otherwise, she’s an adorable box cheerleader.
The rest of my rolls are as follows:
Active Skill: Miracle of Wood: Change Light orbs to Wood orbs, Dark orbs to Heart orbs. Enhance Heart orbs. +6% per orb, up to +180% for full board.
Leader Skill: Guidance of the Green Angel: Wood attribute cards HP x2, ATK x1.5, RCV x2.
Yay, pantheon roll! Though out of all the archangels, I wanted Raphael and Gabriel the most, Michael is a solid row sub with three green rows and a double orb-change active. He’s also used in some cheeses and farming applications because of his 4 autoheal awakenings and his active.
Shining Lance Wielder, Odin
Active Skill: Gungnir: Inflict Light damage equal to ATK x50 to 1 enemy, and drain 15% of the damage you dealt. Affected by enemy element and defense. Bind recovery for 5 turns.
Leader Skill: Wind of Asgard: 80% all damage reduction when HP is full. ATK x1.5 when simultaneously clearing 4 connected Wood orbs. ATK x0.5 for each additional orb, up to ATK x3.5 at 8 connected orb.
Ahhh, king of the nacho and the fondue cheese, the newly buffed and still relevant Grodin!!!!! Back in ye olde days of PAD, I used to use him as a friend leader to help me through the normal dungeons, with the amazing leader skill that reduces damage. Now that he’s actually capable of doing damage…
That MAthena cheese is happening. It’s happening. IT’S HAPPENING!
(I really want MAthena, both for her usage and for her amazing art. She’s the best looking out of the released Machine dungeons–she looks perpetually startled in her awoken form, terrified of her machine body and prison and attacking out at everything. She’s gorgeous.)
Sea Serpent. ………….uuuuuuuuuuuuuh. The only good one of the late bloomer, all-color dragon series is Fafnir, due to the recent YamaP buffs and killers that each boast. This is just trash.
Dragon Rider, King Arthur
Active Skill: Light & Dark Orbs Change: Change Dark & Jammer orbs to Light orbs. Change Heart, Poison & Mortal Poison orbs to Dark orbs.
Leader Skill: Cut off the Retreat: Attacker type cards ATK 2.5x.
I…there…that is the most descriptive active skill I’ve read in a while. It’s what it says on the tin. Light and Dark Orbs change. That’s very true. That’s very succinct.
There’s no decent team he can get used on, unlike other riders in the series, such as Wiz Merlin or Marine Rider. He’s just…hanging out.
Bursting Great Earl of Hell, Ronove
Active Skill: Hurricane Shout: Randomly spawn 2 Heart orbs from non Wood & Heart orbs. Change Jammer, Poison & Mortal Poison orbs to Wood orbs.
Leader Skill: Evil Sound’s Reverberation: ATK x2.5 when attacking with 3 of following orb types: Fire, Water, Wood, Light & Dark. ATK x0.5 for each additional orb type, up to ATK x3 for all 4 matches. ATK x4, reduce damage taken by 35% after matching Heal orbs in a cross formation.
I HAVE OBTAINED, THE ONE TRUE GUITAR HERO!!!!!! Rainbow meta comes back with a vengeance in Ronove, heart-cross darling, capable of dealing damage up to 144x with any 4 colors. Boopaloo really wants him. (Boopaloo really wants Gremory). ((Boopaloo wants a lot of things, but not another Sherias. Or Grodin0)).
He’s flexible and his active is broken–creating two hearts and turning hazards into woods every 3 turns at max skill, which is incredibly fast and incredibly broken. It’s like Moogle’s skill, except he actually has very good weighted stats. He’s such a powerful lead, and has cleared many of the annihilation content with skill and ease.
Scholarly God of Fortune, Ganesha
Active Skill: Incisive Brilliance: 100% damage reduction for 1 turn. Enhance Fire, Water, Wood, Light, Dark & Heart orbs. +6% per orb.
Leader Skill: Mercantile Knowledge: Get 2x coins after a battle.
I AM RICH. NO LONGER WILL I SUFFER THE CURSE OF NOT HAVING MONEY ANYMORE. Also, with the new Uuevo, Ganesha gains 1.5x exp when entering as a leader, which means, RANK FARMING for DAYS. (I have rank farmed too much. I regret rank farming.)
That damage enhance and void damage shield will also come in handy against things that I would have liked to have a Raphael for. It’s only one turn of shield, but Raphael’s is essentially one turn, barring a second active. I am rich. I am wonderful. I have a Ganesha!!!
I…already have one of him. .________. And he’s a pain to skill up.
That concludes my rolls since the last Godfest, and what a bunch of rolls they were. I long for the day when Boopaloo and I can share a common leader so that we can co-op together all day long, but alas. Boopaloo has the Sumire System. I have a Myr (and Kaede, and Ronove, and some other leads). One day…one day…we will frolic in PAD together.
